Grant Park Tour of Homes This Weekend!

Find out just how "green" Grant Park really is...

The 34th Annual Grant Park Tour of Homes is Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22 and 23 -- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. -- and this year highlights the sustainability and eco-friendliness of homes in this historic neighborhood.
There will be a green market at the ticket booth (Sevananda, MellowBellies and the East Atlanta Farmer's Market will have products and brochures).

Some of the 10 homes on the tour areenvironmentally
friendly, including a house that has Earth Craft, Energy Star, and
Smart House designations – the only one in Atlanta to have all three.
There will also be a special stop at a new development that will be
LEED certified.

Proceeds will benefit the Grant Park Neighborhood Association to support area initiatives and civic groups.

The ticket booth will be at the Grant Park entrance on corner of Milledge
Avenue and Cherokee Avenue.

Special stops on the tour include Tour sponsor Urban Realty Partners' new
development, Oakland Park, that will boast a LEED certification once
completed. Complete with bamboo flooring, efficient plumbing fixtures,
operable windows for natural ventilation and other sustainable design
elements, the complex will include 65 one- and two-bedroom residential
lofts and condominiums.
Stop by Park Avenue Baptist Church afterwards for light refreshments while viewing one of Grant Park's historic
gems.

Tickets - $15 in advance and $20 on the day of - are on sale at
www.GrantParkTour.org and at area businesses, including Grant Central
Pizza, Dakota Blue, Six Feet Under and the Grant Park Conservancy
Office.

Volunteers are also still needed for the two days of the tour.
