Oakland Park Condominiums is one of 26 Georgia sites included in the 2008 Georgia Solar Tour, organized by the Georgia Solar Energy Association. The Solar Tour gives those interested in environmental conservation practices the opportunity to take self-guided tours through buildings across Georgia that exhibit great energy saving technologies. This year’s tour is the largest yet, and will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, with Oakland Park open for tours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Oakland Park is a 65-unit, LEED Silver certified condominium building located at 565 Memorial Drive along the Memorial Drive revitalization district in Atlanta.
“We are extremely honored to be included in the 2008 Solar Tour,” said Simon Tuohy, Financial Officer and Development Associate for Urban Realty Partners, one of the developers of Oakland Park. “During construction, we took great care to design a building that includes renewable energy features and we are excited to be able to showcase through our homes at Oakland Park the many ways that individuals can help protect the Earth in a eco-friendly home.”
There are 18 sites in and around Atlanta, one site in northern Georgia, six sites in central Georgia and one site in southern Georgia. Tour hours vary by location. To view a map of all locations included in the 2008 Solar Tour, visit www.gasolar.us.
