Solar Tour of Homes Is Saturday

The 2008 Georgia Solar Tour, organized by the Georgia Solar Energy Association, will take place Saturday, Oct. 4. The Solar Tour gives those interested in environmental conservation practices the opportunity to take self-guided tours through buildings across Georgia that exhibit great energy saving technologies. This year’s tour is the largest yet, with 36 sites statewide.

Atlanta locations include:

Oakland Park Condominiums, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., 563 Memorial Drive (corner Memorial and Park Ave)

Stonehurst Place, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., 923 Piedmont Avenue  (Bed & Breakfast)

Taylor Residence, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., 750 West Sandtown Road in Marietta

Berg Residence, 9 a.m. – Noon, 1111 Rosedale Drive in Virginia-Highland

A special reception at Southface Energy Institute, 241 Pine St., will conclude the Georgia Solar Tour from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.. Comments by John Baumstark, CEO of Suniva.
