Thirst Aid Live is Coming to Atlanta

The world's water supply is diminishing and organizations are working hard to raise awareness about this global crisis before it's too late. Thirst Aid Live, the campaign to combat the global water crisis, will make a stop The Gallery at South DeKalb Mall on Friday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. to educate people about the severity of the water crisis and introduce initiatives to correct the problem.

Comprised of celebrity entertainers, musicians, community leaders and athletes, Thirst Aid Live affords highly visible and creditable foundations the opportunity to come together under one umbrella and deliver a more uniformed outcry to the crisis. Co-founded by musician, Mike Musick, Thirst Aid Live's stop in Atlanta will feature a screening of the documentary narrated by actress Jane Seymour, "The American Southwest: Are We Running Dry", Q&A with the writer/director/producer, Jim Thebault, and a special performance of the hit song featured in the documentary, "America" by Mike Musick.

Denise Russo, TAL producer, explained the reason for the project. "Thirst Aid Live's programming is twofold: to raise funds that Thirst Relief International can use to provide safe drinking water opportunities globally, and to provide educational environmental stewardship initiatives locally and nationally." Thirst Aid Live is an educational awareness campaign about a global cause. Water is the most essential element for life and living. You can live days or weeks without food, but unsafe drinking water is a leading cause of death in undeveloped nations.

Research on the global water crisis has estimated that 2 billion people lack access to clean water supplies worldwide and 1 in 5 kids will die from unsafe water today. Presently, in the United States alone, in upwards of 2 billion plastic bottles (many water bottles) end up in landfills that will take an average of 400 years to decompose just one.

Thirst Aid Live will be held The Gallery of South DeKalb Mall's Cinema 12 Jazz Lounge, 2801 Candler Rd. in Decatur. The event is free and doors open at 6 pm with the screening of the film beginning promptly at 7 pm. Space is limited and all attendees are asked to RSVP @ info@thirstaidlive.com.
