SoutheastGreen.com Launches

With a promise to make a “green” lifestyle possible for everyone who wants one, SoutheastGreen.com has launched a comprehensive website and resource directory for business professionals, commercial property owners and concerned citizens who are looking for ways to save energy, save money and conserve natural resources. In addition, SoutheastGreen.com is compiling the Southeast’s largest editorial resource for all the green news in the metro Atlanta area with plans to grow and include other cities in 2009 and 2010.

Beth Bond, co-founder of GreenerAtlanta.org, came on board to manage the editorial side of SoutheastGreen.com in July, 2008. The website includes six categories of interest: Metro Atlanta News, Development News, The Greener Life – the consumer home section, Georgia State News, Changing Tactics – featuring Atlanta’s leaders who are making a difference in the sustainable landscape of Atlanta, and, finally, a largely expanded blog section that features several local bloggers. The site also features an event calendar which lists green educational business seminars and workshops, trade shows and networking events.

SoutheastGreen.com founder Sandra Cummins and editorial partner Bond have deep roots in the Atlanta green business and non-profit community. “We are strategic partners with Sustainable Atlanta.org, Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources’ Pollution Prevention Assistance Division - Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia, Green Business Works, Georgia Restaurant Association’s Green FoodService Alliance and many other organizations,” explained Bond. “We enjoy reaching out to the business community by speaking about sustainability issues,” said Cummins.

Business owners and leaders can benefit from the information and resources provided on SoutheastGreen.com. Businesses that list on www.southeastgreen.com will be able to use the business directory for referrals and networking and can also use the community services and editorial sections for professional assistance.
