Winners of EarthCraft's Builder Awards Announced

EarthCraft held its annual Builder Awards Ceremony on February 19th at Whirlpool's Insperience Studio. EarthCraft is a high-value, hands-on solution for quality building professionals seeking a sustainable certification of high-performance projects.

Created in 1999, the EarthCraft program is a joint venture between the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and South Face Energy Institute. There are more than 450 builder members in the Southeast that build to EarthCraft standards. It was one of the first certified green-building programs in the United States. EarthCraft is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2009 and there will be events throughout the year to recognize this milestone for the program.

At the turn of the year there have been 5,205 single family homes certified and 2,031 multifamily units certified. EarthCraft now covers the southeastern United States with builders in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
