Earth Day at Atlantic Station

In keeping with the community's strong commitment to the environment, Atlantic Station is hosting its first annual Earth Day event on April 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. As the nation's largest urban brownfield redevelopment and as a national model for smart growth and sustainability, Atlantic Station provides the ideal location to host one of Atlanta's largest Earth Day celebrations.

For the event, Atlantic Station has invited local and national businesses into the sustainable mixed-use community to showcase how they are going green and to educate consumers how to lead a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle. Participants will share sustainable "how tos" unique to their own businesses, and which consumers can incorporate into their own lives.

The public is invited to attend the free event, which will be held in Central Park in Atlantic Station, to celebrate going green on Earth Day.

Since its opening in 2005, Atlantic Station has embraced the green movement through its one-of-a-kind environmental design and strategy. The mixed-use community utilizes an environmentally-friendly water cooling system that produces green energy, boasts LEED certified office towers, will ultimately include 11 acres of green space and encourages public transportation by providing a free community shuttle system.

Local and national businesses will be participating in Atlantic Station's Earth Day celebration, showcasing their own green products, distributing free samples to attendees and providing tips to consumers on how to go green in their own everyday lives.

Participants include Georgia Aquarium, How Stuff Works, Regal Cinemas, Publix, The Georgia Conservancy, Nestea, FUZE Beverage, Mission Zero, City of Atlanta Department of Watershed, and Atlantic Station's own ASAP+, Smart Wash and FIO 360, among others.
