Atlanta's Mandy Schmitt Mahoney, Director of Sustainability for the City of Atlanta, has been selected by Generation Green to receive their 2009 Longleaf Award recognizing her as an emerging environmental leader. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 18 during the organization's "Verde" Summer Soiree at the Brookwood on Peachtree.
"Verde" is co-sponsored by SweetWater Brewery and The Brookwood. Proceeds from the event will be used to support the Georgia Conservancy's work to protect the Georgia environment. Tickets are $30 for members of the Georgia Conservancy and $50 for nonmembers, and include food, drink, entertainment, and a one-year membership for nonmembers. Complimentary valet parking will be available the night of the event.
