Brix Has Organic Wine

Brix Wine Merchant, located on Caroline Street in the Edgewood Retail District, is now selling organically grown wines.

Tablas Creek Vineyard, a 120-acre certified organic estate vineyard in California, offers Côtes de Tablas Blanc, which consists of four white Rhône varietals: Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, and Grenache Blanc. This wine was designed to drink young at its peak from the moment of release. Look for flavors reminiscent of herbs, stone fruits and minerals, followed in the mouth by apricot flavors, rich in texture that end in a peachy-clean finish. The wine pairs well with oily fish or creamy pasta dishes.

Territorial, a winery that sources its fruit primarily from three Lane County vineyards in Oregon, all of which are certified sustainable by LIVE and Salmon Safe. The 2006 Pinot Noir has aromas of earth, spice and sweet cherry followed by an integrated mid-palate showing classic pinot flavors of cherry, briar, toast and cola. Finishes with great length and structure. Pair it with salmon, veal or pork, poultry (think duck) or beef, and/or hearty vegetarian entrees.

Check out these and more organic wines at Brix, 1230 Caroline St. (located above Carriage Cleaners). (404) 525-4098 or www.brixwinemerchant.com.
