Dealing With Junk Mail

You can always recycle paper that comes in your mailbox as junk mail, but how about stemming the flow. Here's a couple of suggestions, courtesy of LiveEarth.org.

For Junk Mail: Go to www.dmaconsumers.org and opt out of many of the circulers and other junk that fills your box. There is a $1 charge, but that's pocket change in comparison to saving yourself -- and the environment -- the hassle of recycling it yourself.

For Credit Card and other offers from Credit Agencies: www.optoutprescreen.com or call 1-888-567-8688.

This will not prevent mail or offers from companies that you have purchased from, for that, you will need to contact each company directly or select settings when you purchase or register.
