Degree of Green

Homeowners and contractors in Atlanta can now get easy-to-understand information on the environmental, sustainable and health attributes of green home building and improvement products at Pure Life Healthy Home, a local retailer.

Pure Life Healthy Homes, at 2183 Briarcliff Rd. in Atlanta, has joined Degree Of Green, a product rating system intended to make it easier for homeowners and contractors to find green and healthy products that address their specific needs and interests.

“We’ve been waiting a long time for a program like this,” said Audrey Franklin, founder and president of Pure Life Healthy Homes. “Our customers are counting on us to know which products are truly green and healthy. With the Degree Of Green program, that knowledge is readily available.”

The foundation of the Degree Of Green system is a library of data sheets that rate specific green building products based on their green, sustainable and health attributes. For each of those attributes, products are rated on a 1-4 scale, with a rating of 4 going to products that have:
• the least adverse effects on human health
• the highest level of environmental sustainability
• the least adverse effects on the environment

Participating retailers receive a full package of merchandising and promotional materials to help them draw attention to their green expertise and to the green and healthy products they offer.
