Peachtree Road Market Celebrates Earth Day

Shoppers at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market at The Cathedral of St. Philip can drop off single-use plastic shopping bags for recycling this Saturday, April 19, and pick from a selection of reusable bags for sale. Buckhead-based iCare Bags will be available as a fundraiser to benefit the Market, and one-of-a-kind cloth totes created by Cathedral parishioners Boog Candler and Wieda Duncan will make their debut. These bags are made using repurposed fabric and vintage neckties donated by The Cathedral Thrift Store and Who Knew upholstery, and are a fashionable way to reduce, reuse and recycle this Earth Day. Garden Hills Elementary will also be present to demonstrate their worm composting bin and the Atlanta Audubon Society will be presenting the benefits of shade-grown coffee available by local roasters of Dancing Goat blend, Batdorf & Bronson. Peachtree Road Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 8:30 - noon in the parking lot of The Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road, NW.
