Keep Atlanta Beautiful Needs Your Contest Entries

Keep Atlanta Beautiful is now calling for entries for the Stepping Lightly in Atlanta Awards Contest, an environmental stewardship-based contest for individuals and groups aged 5-18 in metro Atlanta. The contest gives students an opportunity to be advocates for a sustainable environment. The grand prize winner will receive a $1000 scholarship from Keep Atlanta Beautiful to fund an environmental project in their school or affiliated organization.

Children and young adults are invited to submit entries for model projects that demonstrate how they have reduced their ecological footprint in their home, class, school or community. They can choose from a variety of environmental issues to concentrate on such as water conservation, waste reduction, energy and transportation. The deadline for applications is April 3, 2009.

Complete guidelines and examples of past projects can be found at www.KeepAtlantaBeautiful.org
